Meet Farren
Farren Schmidt is a Master’s level pre licensed therapist. Her Master’s degree in Counseling is from George Washington University. She is also a National Certified Counselor. Her Bachelors Degree is in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from James Madison University. She has recently taken Post-Masters credits in Resiliency at EMU. She has been in the counseling field, working in a school-based setting, for over 15 years. In this capacity, she has gained valuable experience working with hundreds of adolescents to help them resolve a wide variety of issues and needs, including depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship problems. She has also worked closely with parents and is interested in continuing to expand upon her experience in the adult population.
Farren is a Client-Centered therapist, which means she considers you to be the expert in your own life and values your perspective. She will listen to your story, support you in a way that feels good to you, give you the space you need to process your feelings, and guide you towards a resolution. She utilizes different counseling approaches to help you reach your goals, but she finds a strengths-based approach to be particularly helpful in discovering your strengths, developing your skills, and empowering you to make the changes you seek. Farren knows everyone has their own needs and she will make sure to be at your level to best support you.
Farren has lived in Hershey throughout her life (minus her education experiences). She has identical twin boys who keep her very busy. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching shows with her husband, and spending time in Avalon, NJ.
