At Ebb & Flow Psychological Associates, we talk often about meeting people where they are. About offering care that feels both evidence-based and deeply human. About holding space for the hard moments, not rushing people through them.

That philosophy doesn’t stop at the therapy room. It also lives at the heart of a new project created by our founder, Dr. Jennifer Collins.

Hey Jude Box Co. began with a very personal loss.

In 2024, Dr. Collins’ mother, Judy, known as “Jude” to those closest to her, passed away from metastatic breast cancer. In the months that followed, grief showed up in quiet ways: in moments of stillness, in the ache of missing someone steady and grounding, and in the lingering question so many people face after loss: how do I carry this forward?

For Dr. Collins, that question turned into a gentle calling to create something meaningful. Something rooted in her professional training, but led by heart. Something that offered comfort in a way that felt real, not rushed or surface-level.

The name Hey Jude comes from Judy’s favorite Beatles song, the same song played at her Celebration of Life. Its message became the emotional anchor of the brand:

“Take a sad song and make it better.”

Hey Jude Box Co. was born from that idea.

At its core, this project is about offering support during life’s hardest seasons: grief, infertility, burnout, anxiety, and the moments when words feel hard to find. The Etsy shop currently features digital coping card downloads designed to be used in everyday life, not tucked away or saved “for later.”

Each deck is thoughtfully written by Dr. Collins and grounded in evidence-based practices like cognitive reframing and self-compassion. These aren’t trendy affirmations or generic wellness quotes. They’re gentle, intentional prompts meant to help people pause, take a breath, and shift their inner dialogue, one small step at a time.

The cards are designed to support the nervous system, encourage self-kindness, and offer grounding perspective when emotions feel overwhelming. They’re the kind of tools Dr. Collins has seen clients benefit from throughout her years in practice, and tools she wishes more people had access to outside the therapy room.

While Hey Jude Box Co. is a separate venture from Ebb & Flow Psychological Associates, it’s deeply aligned with the values that guide our work here every day. It reflects the belief that healing doesn’t always happen in big, sweeping moments. Often, it happens quietly, in the middle of an ordinary day, through one kind reminder or one steady breath.

Jude inspired the heart of the brand. Dr. Collins’ clinical expertise gives it structure and care. Together, they created something that feels like a hand on your shoulder during a hard moment, steady, supportive, and grounding.

If you or someone you care about could benefit from these resources, we invite you to explore the shop. And if it feels right, to share it with others who might need a little extra support right now.

Because no one should feel alone in their pain, and sometimes, making a sad song better starts with one intentional message.
